March 17-22, 2008 - Watauga Trophy Section

Midges in the morning and blue wings in the afternoon have been the theme on the Watauga over the last few days. Great hatches of blue wings are coming off in the afternoon and sometimes till dark. A few blonde caddis have been spotted as well. Nice browns are being caught on big streamer patterns in deeps water. Sinktip line and extra weight is a good idea with the water being high. Big fish are also being caught in fast slots on blue wing nymphs during the hatch. Fish can be caught on dries consistently during afternoon bluewing hatch. It’s definitely a good time to be on the Watauga
